Cherokee Scrubs Sizing Guide

The most common sizing complaint with Cherokee is from people who bought one line, loved it, then ordered the same size in a different line and found it did not fit. The lines are cut differently on purpose.

How the lines differ

  • Workwear Originals — the most generous cut. Straight through the body, roomy in the sleeve and leg. The traditional scrub shape.
  • Core Stretch — slightly trimmer than Workwear, with stretch built in. A middle option.
  • Revolution — noticeably slimmer, shaped through the waist, with four-way stretch. Most people size up coming from Workwear.
  • Infinity — tailored, the most fitted of the four.

Measure rather than guess

Take three measurements with a tape measure, standing relaxed:

  • Chest/bust — around the fullest part.
  • Waist — at the natural waist, not the hip.
  • Hip — around the fullest part.

Compare to the size chart on the specific product, not a general chart. If you fall between sizes, size up for Workwear and Core Stretch, and consider the smaller size for Revolution and Infinity only if you prefer a close fit.

Length

Scrub pants come in regular, petite and tall inseams on many styles. Pants that drag are both a trip hazard and a contamination problem — they pick up whatever is on the floor. Get the inseam right rather than planning to hem.

Petite sizing is worth seeking out rather than settling for regular, which is a common frustration for shorter staff in Singapore where regular inseams are cut for a taller average.

Shrinkage

Performance polyester blends are dimensionally stable and shrink very little. Higher-cotton blends will shrink somewhat on the first few hot washes — if your institution launders at high temperature, factor that in.

Buying for a team

If you are ordering for a department or a student cohort, collect measurements rather than asking people for their size. Self-reported sizes across four differently-cut lines produce a lot of exchanges.

We can quote bulk orders with mixed sizes and optional embroidery — see request a quote.

Shop the lines

Cherokee scrubs covers all four lines; scrubs, uniforms and shoes is the wider category.
